Living Your Dream Life Begins with Believing That It’s Possible

Introduction

This is an excerpt from Delightful Sites — a weekly email series helping therapists, coaches, and entrepreneurs build sustainable, values-aligned businesses, through the power of website marketing. 💐

RV driving across Oregon mountain landscape

I’m writing to you from Oregon, where my partner and I are RVing with our 3 cats for the next few months.

Looking up at the ancient trees around me, listening to the birds & and the river, I sometimes have to pinch myself because it feels like I’m living in a dream. I am aware that this IS so many people’s dream.

We’ve been RVing full-time for almost a year now. It was a messy journey, going from renting in Colorado to living in a 35-ft-long box that holds everything we own.

I share this because I know that there are things that you’re dreaming about too.

Maybe you dream of:

🌱 having a softer & slower life, where you can sleep in and work 3-4 days per week instead of 5-6 days

🌱 moving abroad to experience a new way of life

🌱 buying a home to raise your family & host community gatherings

🌱 saving up enough money to go on that vacation that you’ve had pinned on your vision board for years

Of course, most dreams require financial resources to become reality. With every dream that you have, there may also be a business goal attached to it.

💐 to make X amount of income per year

💐 to see X number of clients per month

💐 to book X number of speaking engagements per quarter

💐 to hit X amount in your business savings account

I’m not here to pretend that it’s easy to reach our goals. It may take a lot of time, sweat & tears, and “1 step forward, 1 step back” energy. It can also involve a lot of luck, chance, & privilege.

I do want to name that, in terms of the mindset piece, it’s a lot harder to achieve a goal if you also don’t believe that it’s possible.

>> It’s hard to book a therapy intensive if you secretly believe that you’re not cut out to offer therapy intensives.

>> It’s hard to write a website that attracts your ideal clients, if you’re convinced that no one wants to work with you & that you don’t deserve to be paid for your services.

>> It’s hard to design a 3-day work-week as an entrepreneur, if you believe that the 40-hour, 5-day work-week is the ONLY option & the ONLY way to do it.

There’s a fine line between magical thinking that bypasses the reality of your situation…. vs. hope-oriented, expansive, & creative thinking that challenges the norms of what’s possible, & connects you to the capacity to go for what you want.

The latter is what we’re aiming for here. 💗

So, let me be the voice in your ear that reminds you: living your dream begins with believing that it’s possible. What you want is out there. What you want, wants you.

I hope you give yourself the gift of believing in yourself.

You are worthy of your dreams,

Liz
