A BETTER LIFE WITH JILL
Jill Sumiyasu (MA, LMFT, LPCC) is a therapist based in Pasadena, California.
She helps adults, adolescents, families, and couples who are overwhelmed, anxious, or facing a major life transition. Her work integrates a mix of modalities: mindfulness, parts work, neuropsychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
Therapy with Jill is collaborative & calming. She believes that this work is not about finding the magic button to “fix” people. It’s about putting together a bunch of pieces that can improve their lives, bit by bit.
PROJECT GOALS
Jill needed to update her website to:
be simpler & more user-friendly
feature one-of-a-kind design that beautifully reflects Jill’s style, personality, and practice
clearly communicate services to prospective clients (many of whom find her via word-of-mouth referral sources & online directories) — so that they understand exactly how Jill can help them & how they can take the first step to work with her
Our project focused on 3 essential pages: Home, FAQs, and Contact Page.

We chose a fresh color palette — orange, green, and lime — to match Jill’s desired website theme: orange poppies.
I chose nature imagery to reflect the calming, mindful energy that is integral to Jill’s practice.
I interviewed Jill to learn why she became a therapist, why she loves this work, and what clients appreciate about her. As our conversation flowed effortlessly, I used Jill’s words to write copy that sounds like her — present, calm, and connected.
Now, Jill’s home page speaks directly to her ideal clientele — adults, adolescents, families, and couples who are overwhelmed, anxious, or facing a major life transition — and explains exactly why she’s the right therapist for them.
I created an FAQs page to share essential information about Jill’s practice — fees, insurance info, location of services, and next steps to begin therapy.
Combined with beautiful visual design, this page serves to anticipate prospective clients’ questions & increase the likelihood of great-fit clients contacting Jill.

Finally, I updated the Contact Page.
added a Contact Form, linked to Jill’s business email, to make it easy for prospective clients to start therapy with Jill
integrated more images & text so that the page evokes feelings of warmth & connection, matching the rest of the website
